Coconut
The large, oval fruit, up to 20 cm in length, of a tropical palm "Cocus nucifera", with an brown, fibrous outer covering, a hard, inner shell lined with a crisp, white flesh about 6mm thick and containing a white, sweet, translucent liquid. Its meat is used in desserts as well as other savoury dishes, its oil and milk are used in frying and cooking, as well as in soaps and cosmetics, and its water serves as a refreshing drink.
