Stuffed Sardines
Sardines are not liked by all, though those who like them, do love them! This stuffed sardines recipe has an exquisite flavor and is a very original way to serve sardines, it may be a way to entice the less convinced sardines eaters that they are worth a second try!
Ingredients:
600 gr sardines
20 ml milk
2 pieces of dry sandwich bread
100 gr grated parmesan
50 gr breadcrumbs
1 lemon
salt - pepper
oregano
Procedure:
Wash the sardines. Pinch the head between your thumb and index finger and remove. Remove the backbone from the small feathery fins lining it.
Cut the lemon thinly into half slices.
Cut dry sandwich bread into cubes.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Soak the sandwich bread in the milk.
Add beaten eggs seasoned with salt and pepper.
Grease a baking pan with oil then pour a little of the mixture. Arrange in layers: interchanging the fish with the bread mixture.
Interspersing each layer with parmesan cheese and bread crumbs.
Bake the preparation for 30 minutes.
Garnish with sliced lemon and oregano before serving.
