On a small pedestrian road which leads to Kallimarmaro stadium there’s a point where people from different backgrounds meet. The restaurant is right in the middle of shops, a large church and also an old well-built and lovely house, now abandoned. Right there under the big and rich shade of a mulberry tree are the tables of Stavros’ taverna that brings together artists, neighbors with their grandchildren, professors, people who work around the area, all coming from different social or even geographical backgrounds. The staff are polite and will take good care of you in this discreet neighbourhood environment. You’ll taste good and honest food, with an emphasis on fish and sea food. The fresh fish allures you, as it is hard to resist grilled sardines, mullet, cod and butts at their best. There is also a range of delicious meat dishes , such as meatballs or grilled meat. In general the menu is an all-rounded traditional Greek menu with salads of raw or cooked vegetables, meze and mains.
