Quince in the Oven with Spices
This delicious and simple dessert tastes great with yogurt or ice cream.
Ingredients:
- 3 large quince
- 1 quince, peeled and finely grated
- 1 cup sweet wine
- 2 tbs raki or ouzo
- 1 tbs honey
- 8 cloves
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- juice from 2 lemons
Procedure:
Preheat the oven at 200° C.
Peel, halve and deseed the remaining quince and toss them in a bowl of cold water where you will have previously added the juice from two lemons.
Strain the quince well and arrange them in a pyrex dish and stick a clove on them.
Sprinkle with the sugar, grated quince and cinnamon.
Slightly warm the wine and dissolve it in the warm honey.
Pour this over the quince , do the same with the raki / ouzo and cover the quince with foil.
Place the pyrex dish with the quinces in the oven and bake at 180° C for approximately 60 minutes.
Remove the foil and allow the quinces to brown for 10 more minutes.
Serve them with a teaspoon of yogurt or whisked fresh cream.
