Fried Seafood with Mastic

This fabulous Greek seafood dish is the ideal meze to enjoy with some ice cold ouzo.

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 mussels
  • 4-5 shrimps, cleaned
  • 1 calamari, cleaned and sliced
  • an octopus tentacle
  • 2 tsp of crushed mastic with salt
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • ½ small bottle of ouzo
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 glass water

Procedure:

Cut the octopus and the calamari into pieces and fry with a little oil.

Add the rest of the seafood after about 5 minutes, along with the mastic.

Add the minced garlic and cool off with ouzo and splash in the lemon juice.

Let the mixture cook for 5 more minutes until most of the juice disappears.
